Iron Maiden : February 2009, Bangalore

This is big news, for obvious reasons. Iron Maiden, our pantheon of Gods bless them, is coming to India for the third time in three years, and I still have the fondest memories of March 17th 2007 as among the best concerts I’ve been to.

In any case, Iron Maiden is performing in Bangalore again on the 15th of February next year, and that has been confirmed. But just like the whole Def Leppard postponement-cancellation fiasco, one can never tell.

However, one can only hope and pray. The last time they were here in our city, they performed half their set from A Matter of Life and Death, and this time, I am sure it is going to be different.

However, this post is centered primarily around a petition that the Bangalore-based bands, Bhoomi and Kryptos have been circulating via email. If enough people sign it, they intend to forward it to DNA and to the other sponsors and thereby open for the Iron Maiden gig.

If you receive an email asking you to sign a petition which will be forwarded to DNA, go ahead and do it. However, you might want to be a bit careful about putting your email ID in case you have nightmares about your email ID being sold to people who want to email you about organ enlargement advertisements.

Lastly, sign the frigging petition, and let’s have Kryptos and Bhoomi on with Maiden on 15th of Feb. I only wish they had some wiki or some other better means of collecting signatures or names for a petition rather than forwarding a mail around.

    Dude, there’s a Heavy Metal Bloggers Meet happening a day before the concert – try and make it!

    @Renie,
    Sure I am going to be there, count me in. But I am unable to register, and I’m too lazy to log in to get an indieblogger ID. Hope that is alright.

    I might even cover it for RSJ if I find it worthwhile. Geek metalheads would make for good subjects to interact with and put into the mag :)

  3. Renie says:

    Sure man, land up – ask for me if there’s any trouble! :-)
