The end of the world is upon us. Most definitely so. Things are all going awry, and nothing is making sense anymore.
I put one search on facebook for ‘Elisha Cuthbert’, the hottest woman alive, and all I found after some stupid fan page created was a whole set of users with the names – ‘Ankit Dixit’, ‘Zubby Raja’, ‘Rabbi Kalra’ and so on and so forth.
One of them had a Kurt Cobain pic in his profile. One of them was a fat surd with a stomach so wide I could hide within it while passing through airport security and nobody would notice!!
I wish I had gone blind before I saw these things, although the way the power on my glasses seems to be going up, that is something inevitable that is just waiting to happen.
Why in the name of God do I have to see such things when all I am searching for is Elisha Cuthbert on facebook???
Sigh. When Orkut emerged as a de-facto social networking site back then, I was delighted to be on it since there were some communities, which had prolific but small number of members. The discussions were very meaningful and contributed immensely to my views on C programming, fundas to survive and enter IT industry
Being an immature kid back then my interests didn’t sp wn beyond IT industry and the relevant skills. I feasted sporadically on these communities I mentioned above and the ones related to Comp.Sci and emerged as a prolific community know-how, that I was even given the janitorship of one of these communities.
Let us do a jump to present day scenarios. I have quit the janitorship of that community in a bid to survive attacks on me by deranged persons whose foul mouthed scraps, mails were comparable to the deranged insane mental perpetrators of the recent bomb blasts or so and for the sake of my own feeble brain.
I then almost quit Orkut, dismissing it as a crappy social networking site, every tom, harry and dick wanted to join. Facebook emerged and I hoped it wouldn’t go the Orkut way. But sadly the mayhem continued. If I want to discuss or read some arbit community discussions with some arbit random people on Economics, sports, Indian-writing, politics, movies and etc, all I see is hatred, propaganda, mischief, wrong info etc put on the intar-web every goddamn day. Screw social networks. More power to blogs hence.
I sincerely hope that I will put “jai” to this world asap
