Once a Jehadi…

The recent unrest in parts of Palestine have once again brought to fore the fact that these millitant donkeys just can’t survive without violence.

The coalition between Hamas and Fatah to form the Palestinian government after the former won the general elections by a huge margin, is a partnership has been shaky, at best.

The fighting apparently began when Mahmoud Abbas of the Fatah faction deployed thousands of police personnel to halt a crime wave in Gaza without first consulting Hamas about the move.

Subsequent assassinations of top Fatah leaders and gun battles raging on in the streets of Gaza between Palestinians seems to have made a mockery of their ‘unity’ and it seems as though these guys are just itching for a fight, one way or the other.

Hamas has now launched rockets into Israel, with very noble intents of having Israel attack and retaliate, thereby uniting the Palestinian people so that they can fight, not against each other, but against the Jews instead.

Fuck, it seems like these guys just can’t do without fights. Maybe they should be introduced to MMORPGs like counter-strike or something, so that they can be kept busy with virtual fighting, instead of what they’re doing now.

Win-win situation for world peace and for gamers and gaming equipment manufacturers.

none of my LJ friends talk about world events. i think it’s because they’re americans. and female.

i agree with you regarding the palestinians. how can the international community — and their neighbors, the israelis — take them seriously? all they do is kill each other, and when they’re not, there seems to be only disarray and distrust between political factions. in effect, there is no semblance of unity. i would love to see the palestinians govern themselves, with their own real country, but when i read about this kind of fighting, a pessimistic well rises within me, and i just say “let them kill each other out of existence” because i know there are plenty of peaceful palestinian moderates who want to just live and work without all the bullshit.

have you ever read from beirut to jerusalem by thomas friedman? it’s kind of awesome, and very enlightening, as far as that part of the world is concerned.

I think I’d mentioned to you during the Pondy trip about how the Middle-East intrigues me so, and I’ve tried reading a lot about it. The new recommendation shall be picked up at the earliest. Thanks, O Honorable Japanese Person!!! :-)

Any plans of coming to India again sometime?
