More iPod Fundaes

The possible inavailability of a computer to charge my precious ipod made me contemplate wanting to buy one of those fancy ipod chargers which connect directly to a wall socket electric connection, providing much needed charge, so that I wouldn’t have to run around tearing my hair out, because I wouldn’t be able to listen to music when I wanted to.

Turns out, an Apple charger costs INR 1900.

At the same time, I stumbled upon this!

Assuming you have already or will be clicking on the link I provided, here’s a bit of additional information about the Ion, that I managed to get after speaking to Vikram Chadaga, who is one of the guys behind the development of this product.

The main reason for calling him was because I was alarmed at the FAQ section on that website, that conveyed to the reader that this product wasn’t tested rigorously. However, Vikram, who is quitting Bosch after having worked there for five years, assured me that some non-tech guy wrote most of the FAQs and watered it down for the junta, resulting in the slight panicky feeling that I got. I am certain that quite a few of you might feel the same way too, but don’t let that dissuade you.

This thing costs INR 399 and is available here in Bangalore itself, and will be shipped within a matter of 2-3 days. Highly convenient.

I have placed the order for mine, which definitely indicates that I would recommend it to other people too, but then again, its entirely your call. I will, however, update this post once I have used it for a few days, to tell you more.

Watch this space.
