Deathly Hallows Leaked?

I recently recieved a forward from a friend of mine, containing a PDF document that was supposedly the leaked version of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’, and I was aghast at the fact that there was a distinct possibility of my not spending the late evening of 20th July and from what I forsee, most of 21st and 22nd July 2007 as I had previously envisioned.

The PDF, true to the original statement made by JKR, has ‘scar’ as its last word, after which an epilogue follows. The additional bit about how it is a 700 page odd book also rings true based on the size of this PDF file.

A small amount of internet research, in fact, just the very first link that google provided made me give out a huge sigh of relief, for I found out that this supposedly leaked PDF is actually some very well-written fan-fiction that can be found at this location.

I have a strong aversion to reading books on the comp, but this stuff is good enough to want to read on occasion. Originally having been taken by the fact that this was actually THE book, I was aghast at how JKR seemed to have sold out with stuff that kids wouldn’t be able to read, though they were intended to be the primary target audience for the first few installments of the series.

The fan-fiction PDF does have a lot of ‘scenes’ between Harry and Ginny, and her name in the book is Ginerva Molly Weasley (?), and the book by itself is pretty gripping and should keep everyone in check until D-day actually arrives.

I am grateful for the fact that I will not lose out on a chance to wear my Harry Potter t-shirt and fight with some arbit retarded kids at whichever bookstore I pick up the Deathly Hallows from, and then read the entire book cover to cover in one sitting.

Here’s to counting our blessings at the original manuscript being kept under close check. Thank God for small mercies.
