Fortune cookies…pah!!!

“Your love life will be happy and harmonious.”

Thus sayeth my orkut profile’s ‘fortune for the day’.

I hate such shit for the simple reason that my socialist inclinations refuse to believe that such a statement is egalitarian.

What about all those that are single and have no such thing as a love life?
What about those that have reached a stage where they are cynical enough about the entire idea to think that the term ‘love life’ is an oxymoron?
What about the married people?

These fortune cookie crap messages can be something that might just mess one’s day up, and all this comes about as a result of putting oneself in the shoes of others that I might have considered less fortunate.

Are they?

Fortune fucking cookies should instead have something generic and unbiased, taking a few chapters out of Linda Goodman’s various books, such as ‘you will have good bowel movement today’ or ‘the new clothes you might purchase, you shall not be allergic to’.

orkut fortune might suck (yeah it does) but linda goodman most definitely does not. i’m sure you’re just gassing off without even having SEEN that book let alone read it, ‘cuz she does NOT say generic stuff at all. SUN SIGNS for one (which is the only one i’ve read), talks very specifically people’s traits, which are occasionally false and mostly true, but never neither.
